Airgard Hires New Director of Technology

WELCOMing Don Westmoreland To The Team

Don comes to Airgard as Director of Technology with many years of experience in the semiconductor R&D and manufacturing field. Don is responsible for developing forward-looking technologies and specifying Airgard solutions to meet customer applications.

Previously with a global semiconductor manufacturer for 32 years, Don managed a material science and films research group for the first half of his tenure, leading a team of scientists developing and patenting new materials for film deposition. Don also worked in global environmental policy, leading a company program to help guide EPA policy on semiconductor manufacturing. Don’s last 10 years at the global semiconductor manufacturer were focused on building and leading a semiconductor organization tasked with reviewing all chemical processes with regard to risk-based process safety (RBPS) as well as assurance of process uptime.

Don’s vast experience in a variety of chemical process roles in the semiconductor industry will contribute greatly to advancement in technology at Airgard as well as the CPS Group.

Don received his BS and MS Chemistry degrees from Texas State University followed by a Ph.D. in Chemistry from The University of Texas at Austin. He resides in Boise Idaho with his extended family.

Airgard was founded in 1988 by Kris and Mark Johnsgard, and has since established itself as a leading vendor for wet scrubbers and state-of-the-art wet-burn-wet gas abatement solutions to major semiconductor companies worldwide.
